Wrap and Ship

Since I have lived away from family for many years, I have to get pretty inventive about how to package and ship gifts. Just the other day, I saw this idea in a magazine and decided to give it a try.

Remember the old wax seal kits on letters?  It was the way things were done in the early 1900's, if you sent a letter, you sealed it with an initial.

Now if you get a letter sealed with a wax stamp, you know it is something special!

So, here's the deal....

I have to ship all of my gifts.  In the past I have spent a bundle on beautiful ribbon, only to have it "smooshed" in the mailing process.  When I saw this idea, it really hit home with me! What you do is to buy kitchen twine or waxed linen thread. Tie it around your package. Melt the sealing wax and press your initial or other favorite stamp on it. The best part is...no "smooshed" ribbon!

Now it gets even better. They have come out with a glue gun sealing wax! That's right, all you have to do it plug in your glue gun, slip this rod of sealing wax in and go to town.  This could get scary! You know it's time to put the glue gun away when you find yourself carrying it around the house looking for something else to seal!
