A New Day, A New Beginning

I look outside at the beautiful blue sky  and am enveloped by a temperature that is much more to my liking, cool and very fall-like. So, what am I going to do with this lovely day?  How can I capture all it has to offer, not wasting a moment to touch people's lives, to be all I can be?

I have always espoused a theory of taking life by a storm. I don't have a lot of time for people who whine and become victims of life, waiting for their ship to come in. Where did this entitlement come in? Sorry Charlie, there's no free lunch.

A friend of mine talked about the gifts of speed bumps in your life. Some call it "waiting for the shoe to drop." When you are knocked out of your current story and then are able to choose a more life-affirming one. We all have them, those speed bumps. They never come at a good time and they always cause a little angst. But as human we are resilient, adaptable and given a positive attitude, come out the other end of the speed bump a stronger and better person than before.

I was just introduced to another blog and the title of a post is The Art of Intentional Living.  Now, doesn't that say it all?  Practice the art of intentional living today and make today all it can and should be. Start small, by doing one thing you love, improving yourself in one small way, saying one kind word to someone and reaching out to a friend/family member who you know would enjoy hearing from you. Smile.

As one wise person once said to me, "It's not where you're at, it's where you're headed."
