A few weeks ago I heard a toast about love, loving your spouse or significant other and love in general, meaning to treat this world in a loving way, i.e. the golden rule.

I've tried to be mindful of this toast and give back to those around me in a loving way, being kinder, smiling more and in general, making this world a teeny bit brighter.

Then, in today's homily, the pastor refreshed everyone's memory of the 10 commandments. Do you remember them?

1. I am the Lord God, you shall have no other gods before me.
2. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord God in vain.
3. Remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy.
4. Honor you Father and Mother.
5. Thou shall not kill.
6. Thou shall not commit adultery.
7. Thou shall not steal.
8. Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
9. Thou shall not covet thy neighbor's house.
10. Thou shall not covet thy neighbor's wife, nor man servant, nor maid servant nor cattle nor anything that is thy neighbors.

So, most of these are self explanatory. 8 means to speak kindly toward your neighbor and 9 and 10 means don't covet what isn't yours, don't be jealous of what someone else has.

Okay, so those are the 10 lessons going through my head this week.  Wonder how I can do.
