The Laundry Room

Whoever said the laundry room has to be dull, boring and in general a forgotten space? I love my laundry room. It houses my hobbies and provides a room for storage of assorted miscellaneous items, besides the obvious of having a washer and dryer for the cleaning of clothes.

It doesn't matter if you have a basement laundry room, a dedicated room for a laundry room or a closet.  You can make something of this space. Take a look around. Can you make your laundry space more efficient by adding an inexpensive cupboard from IKEA? Or a shelf from Home Depot? How about a simple decorative jar from Walmart for your powdered laundry detergent?

Would it help to paint the space a bright, sunny color? Do you have a spot for the stray socks that inevitably appear without notice? How about a small "piggy bank" for that loose change that falls out of pockets? How about buying a silverware organizer and put odds and ends to repair clothing; like needles, thread, scissors, spot remover, and buttons?

Take a look at your laundry room space.  It's an easy target for the home decorating bug. Try your skills here and build on them. It's a haven for both making a spot in your home brighter and more efficient.
