The Scourge of Shopping Carts

Have you ever come back from grocery shopping and had your car banged and dented by a runaway grocery cart that someone was too lazy to put in the cart keeper?

Have you ever been too lazy to put your shopping cart in a cart keeper?  I think we all have at one time or another.

When I read this on Facebook I had to agree,
I know I have mentioned this before, but it is probably my biggest pet peeve and I get so angry...put your grocery cart where it belongs when you're finished with it...not between your car and mine. Don't you think it's easier to walk your cart to the cart return 10 steps away than squeeze into your car?

Here's my solution.  Make a practice of taking a shopping cart into the store with you.  Yes, that means walking to a cart and steering it into the store.  You know you're going to need one anyway. Infact, if the stores would even give 25 cents per cart brought into their store, I am sure they would get paid back much more than that in public perception. Until the stores catch on, take a cart in with you.... just because you're a good person.

By the way, if you grab a cart that has been left next to a car, odds are it was used for the duration of the shopping experience by the person who left it. Therefore, increasing the additional odds that, sense it made it all the way through said shopping experience, that it DOESN'T have the gimpy wheel. A person is better off to grab one of those left in the lot, than to take a chance, once in the store, that the in store cart" might constantly be pulling right into the dinnerware and breaking stuff.
