Oh, what a beautiful morning,

Oh, what a beautiful day,
I've got a beautiful feeling,
Everything's going my way!

Remember that song from decades ago?

I'm telling you, I woke up singing that to myself today.

Why? I'm not sure. But if that self-fulfilling prophecy idea is true, it should be a fantasmigorical day!
**********************************
I wrote this yesterday, but I thought I'd follow up and let you know what transpired on my
"beautiful day", lest you think I was daft at singing this song to myself.

The reason I was so happy was both Freddie and I were home, with nothing to do...all day!  First, I went to church.

Next, I charged up with my fav, Starbucks coffee.  This old chocolate lab chewing his dog treat while his owners shared a cup o'joe made me smile. There is one happy dog!

After church, it was a clean slate-maybe I was reverting back to that "rest on the 7th day" deal.  Whatever the case, it felt so good!

I put my feet up and leisurely read the Sunday paper.

I took out my trusty Elna sewing machine which is now 38 years old and purring like a kitten. I got out some fabric, a pattern and went to town.

I love being creative. While I don't sew as much as I used to and my skills are a bit rusty, I still manage to be able to be creative. (Did you notice my new green paisley ironing board cover in this photo? It was a New Year's gift to myself. Yes, it does make ironing more enjoyable!)

Next, I made a comfort food dinner. Yes, that old Midwestern standby of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, sliced tomatoes and fresh green beans with just a sprinkle of chopped bacon for garnish.

YUM! Did I tell you my secret  for good fried chicken is crushed pretzels for the breading? Try it, you'll like it!

It really was a beautiful day!
