Grocery Shopping For Thanksgiving

Are you ready for the biggest eating day of the year?  Oh boy, better buy those new stretchy pants now.
You know even if you overindulge, think of it as only overindulging for one meal.  Get that?  One meal, not for one month.  Yes, the average weight gain from Thanksgiving till New Year's Day is 17#.  Yikes.  Really? That makes for a pretty depressing January, what with dieting those pounds away that you gained over the holidays and trying to pay off the Christmas shopping bills. 

Try to limit your overindulgence (both in food consumption and retail consumption). It will make for a much happier January.

Having said that, it's time to make out the grocery list.  What are your traditional Thanksgiving foods? My menu will read:

Roasted turkey
Sausage stuffing
Mashed potatoes
Green bean casserole
Sweet potatoes
Scalloped corn
Fruit compote
Pumpkin pie
Pecan pie

Oofta...time for me to reread paragraph #2.
