Good Housekeeping Cookbook

It's getting to be that time of year when cooking is one of the most wonderful things of life.  It's one of life's pleasures to watch the football game and have an extra special treat, or come home from a long day of work, when dusk is looming, realizing old man winter is on his way. That is when I long for my Good Housekeeping cookbook. I can find fantastic recipes for fresh, local produce, yummy hot meals with aromas that waft through the house and make everyone come asking, "When's dinner?"

This cookbook was given to me as a shower gift from my Aunt Lucy over 40 years ago.  It's ragged, food stained pages show years of use.  Take it from me, this is really the only cookbook you need. Save the precious cupboard space for all of the other goodies.  Get this cookbook and you'll be set. It has measurements, substitutions, table settings, roasting times, "how to's" on everything I've ever needed and most of all great tried and true recipes!

Now I give the latest version of this cookbook to the new brides in my life. All they need is the Good Housekeeping Cookbook, a good apron and a red spoon.  Bon Appetit!
