First Day of Autumn

Why, yessirree, it's September 21st, the first day of autumn.  Now we can officially wear our sweaters, bring out the warm socks, bake comfort food, cheer our favorite college football team and turn on the premier week of hot television favorites! This day is actually the day of the Autumnal Equinox; the day the sun is about over the equator.  On September 23-23 the sun starts it's travels toward the southern hemisphere. Our days in the northern hemisphere get shorter and cooler as the southern hemisphere enjoys the lingering days and warmer temperatures.

Maybe it's the cooler autumn air (it is raining in Phoenix!) or positive ions in the air, who knows.  I've been remembering odd things, like when my son called me from college, telling me he went out on a date and didn't have any clean clothes.  He did have a bottle of Febreze though, so he sprayed himself up and down with Febreze!

Can you even imagine? A for ingenuity; B for...B O; which I'm sure he had!
College days, ya gotta love 'em!
