Summer Foods

I'm in the mood for some new tasty treats. I moseyed off to our local gourmet grocery.  One has to mosey in a gourmet grocery store, there are so many new and delightful new taste treats. I found this.

I don't know why one has to have red sweet corn. I thought the yellow and the white were just fine.  But maybe it's for the same reason  they have yellow watermelon instead of red.  After standing there contemplating if it was worth the extra cost, I decided I had to give it a try.

Then there was a seafood sale.  So I picked up a couple of 8 ounce lobster tails.  Yummy!  Can't beat lobster in the summer.  Remind me of this when I retire.  I want to move to Maine for the summer so I can eat all the lobster I want!

I decided to make homemade Lobster Rolls. First I toasted the sliced baguette.

Then, after baking the lobster (yes, I bake it, not steam it because I don't like the water oozing out when I cut into it). I sliced it into chunks and let it get to room temperature.  I then drizzled on melted butter and a sprinkle of Old Bay seasoning.  I topped it with a leaf or two of lettuce.

Add a little fruit and there was a delicious summer meal.

The red sweet corn was tasty, it had a little more texture and firmness than either white or yellow.
