Bachman's

When my plane lands in Minneapolis, I rent a car and the first place I stop is Bachman's Floral Shop on 61st and Lyndale.  I can't miss it.  It's a party for the senses.
They do a fantastic job of display, great buyers with such creative minds and the fragrance of fresh flowers fills the air. Oh, not to forget the coffee shop with yummy treats and robust java surrounded by seasonal blooms!

Every time I am able to get there, the displays change.  This time I visited they are doing a retro or vintage inspired transformation.  It was so cool! I loved seeing all of the things that have been brought back from the 50's.

I remember back in the day when we had a milkman deliver these little beauties to our house-filled with delicious fresh milk!

Look at these old style lacing cards with bright colored shoestrings to teach children fine motor skills. What a silly thing! And oh, so fun!

Remember all of these fun childhood games?

What child hasn't gone to a party where you've played Pin The Tail On The Donkey?!

My sons loved The Golden Books.  We read for hours!

Who remembers learning how to read with "Fun With Dick and Jane" (and their dog Spot)?

More on Bachman's tomorrow....
