Sex and The City 2

For many women and a few men, people have been waiting to see the Fab 4 girls strutting thier stuff in the Big Apple once again. I must admit I was never a follower of Carrie and the girls on TV.  I watched a few times and it was too mundane, week after week...blah, blah, blah, get the guy, get the job, get the shoes.  However, when I saw SATC1 I was a convert. The writers were good; it was a comedy, a drama, a romance movie, and the spectacle of fashion was impressive.

I was lucky on Wednesday night as SATC1 was on TV.  I was able to refamiliarize myself with the cast of characters and their antics. Who can forget Samantha trying to woo her man by lying naked on the dining room table covered in sushi?

Yesterday I went to SATC2.  It didn't disappoint me.  Actually I think I laughed more. The writers must have matured too because their take on menopause was hilarious. (No spoilers here.) There were also some excellent messages for Moms of young children and the whole aspect of what happens with a marriage when the afterglow of the big bash wedding is over.

I have to admit I once again fell for the glamour of the bling and the fashion. It's like a flashing Vogue Magazine before your eyes. I also enjoyed the razzle dazzle of all of the local bars cashing in on the event with SATC2 parties and special cocktails, like the Mr. Big Martini and this...

Carrie's Wedding White Cosmo

1 1/2 oz. vodka
1/2 oz. triple sec
1 oz. white cranberry juice
splash of fresh lime juice
granulated sugar for the glass rim

Run a lime wedge around the rim of a Martini glass and dip rim in granulated sugar. Add ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into the sugar-rimmed Martini glass.
