House Cleaning is Toxic

I love a clean house.  It came to me years ago that I do better in  more organized  surroundings.  Ask my sons what it was like when Mom came home from work and dirty dishes were in the sink, not the dishwasher and school paraphenalia was strewn about, etc.  Not pretty.

I am not a neat freak, I just appreciate a little order.

The last time I was in the store I bought some of this. It's toilet cleaner. I have those pesky water mineral stains in the procelain toilet bowl.  I found I can use a swimming pool pumice stone and scrub the little devils, but I read that this cleaner was good.  So I used it. I squirted the toilet bowl and used the scrub brush.

It splashed in my face and eyes. ICK!  I quickly went to the sink and rinsed my face and eyes. Then I read the bottle. It said,  "Can cause permanent eye damage. Call 800-xxx-xxxx immediately." So I called. After giving the fellow all my information,  he told me to stand in the shower for 30 minutes with tepid water and let the water run down my face while blinking. I thought he was kidding. As an after thought I asked what the active ingredient is in this product. HYDORCHLORIC ACID!  Holy Mother of God. I'm glad I don't have  pets or small children around! Can you imagine?  I suppose this is how I am supposed to dress while cleaning the house?
Back to the vinegar and pumice stone!
