Rome V

As the saying goes, "Rome wasn't built in a day." Neither was this trip blog! How can a trip to Rome be complete without a visit to the Pantheon? Here is the most architecturally perfect building in the world, an awesome sight. The hole in the ceiling was left so people would have an "eye to the heavens".

The alter in the Pantheon.

Rafael's tomb in the Pantheon. It is said, "When Rafael was born, art in Italy was born. When Rafael dies, art in Italy died."

The Spanish Steps were also on the top 25, so we had to conquer them. Holy, Moly there were a lot of steps! What a beautiful sight to see once we got to the top, all the piazzas and vistas of Rome.
Lastly we did our own version of the Angels and Demons tour. You know the book popularized by Dan Brown? The most beautiful was Bernini's Piazza Navona Fountain of Four Rivers.
Yes, all good things must come to an end. Arrivederci Roma!
