Giving children an allowance helps them to learn the value of a dollar. They also learn how to manage money.
A "honey-do" list is easier when it is in writing. That way the "honey" knows there's an end to it!
When you are trying to get your kids to help with chores, put on a music CD. Give them the list of chores and tell them to do as many chores as they can while the CD is playing. When the job is finished, you can reward them for how many jobs they completed and how well they completed them.
Brush your teeth with an electric toothbrush. Brushing your teeth with an electric toothbrush for 2 minutes is equivalent to brushing your teeth 6 minutes manually.
Add more exercise to you life without trying. Park farther away from you desitnation. Exercise while standing in line, stand on one leg, lift the other foot one inch off the ground and tighten your standing leg and buttock.
When trying to lose weight, buy that pair of pants you've been looking at one size smaller. Try them on once/week until they fit.
Brush your teeth immediately after you eat to help prevent those between meal munchies.
When trying to diet, start your meal with a salad.
Enjoy better health, exercising 10 minutes at a time, 3 times a day is beneficial.
If you have a pet, do not use the "blue cleaner" for toilet bowls. It is toxic to animals.

I was introduced by this reading system by a friend of mine who is a teacher. It is called the TAG System. It's a book and a pen; fit for preschoolers hands. You point the pen at a word and it repeats it verbally. Great tool to teach reading.

A fabulous gift for new parents is the book 12 Gifts. It is a book about when you become a new parent how a baby enriches your life immediately, by giving you the gift of a new love, a new form of compassion, etc. It's a must have.

Third Sunday in Advent

It's the third Sunday in Advent, preparing for the coming of Jesus. Have you ever seen a live Nativity? They are awesome! Here is one at a local church (it helps to have nice weather!) There was a quartet playing Christmas music, hot chocolate and shepherds sharing the Christmas story. All the while Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus and the angels were there. As well as many of the animals the shepherds were attending to. Pretty Cool!
