Mall of America

I was at the grand opening of the MOA in August, 1992. It was wild, "Tuxes and Tennies" where dignitaries wore evening gowns and jeweled tennis shoes, tuxes and high top Converse. Sister Jan, henceforth known in this blog as "AJ" arranged it all. Today, it is still the largest indoor shopping mall in the USA. I love to go there, something for everyone is an understatement. This store intrigued me. Being from AZ, one can never have enough flip flops!
Here are a few fun facts...
*The temperature is kept at a constant 70 degrees.
*There are 4 floors, each .57 miles around.
*Over 5000 weddings have occurred at the mall. Yes, there is a wedding chapel.
*Employs over 13,000 people.
*40 million visitors annually.
*If you visited each store for 10 minutes, it would take you 86 hours to see every store.
What it really means to the visitor, is a vacation in a mall. There is the famous amusement park, the fascinating underground aquarium, a science museum, a playhouse for live plays, currently showing "Tina and Tony's Wedding", several movie theaters, miniature golf and a comedy club. Of course there are tons of restaurants and over 400 stores.
