Trains, Planes and Automobiles

My "Wild Hair" seems to be manifesting into a lengthy vacation.
I arrived in Minneapolis at 1:30 in the morning after a flight delay. I just made it to rent a car before the weary Avis agent closed the desk for the day. I "toodled" around the city visiting my favorite haunts, getting reacquainted with friends, meeting their new adorable grandchildren and lunching with my terrific sisters-in-law. For the next few days, I had some great time with a true Maxine, my 83 year old mother and met up with my son Ben.
From MSP I traveled to Chicago. Yup, called son John on the spur of the moment, who was gracious enough to say, "Yes, you can stay at my place". Called my son Ben, who thankfully works for an airline and said, "Book me on the first flight". Two hours later I was on the tarmac at O'Hare.
I quickly glanced at the train schedule and had about 5 minutes to run to the train. I hopped on board with my carry on (which is quite the joke as it weighs as much as most people), my laptop and my trusty oversized traveling handbag. After a transfer, got to my destination. I plopped down on the sofa for just a moment before I teamed up with my sister and consumed in record time, a mouth watering famous Chicago pizza.
What a great day!
