Mother's Day Part III

The young Mother set foot on the path of life.
"Is this the right way?" she asked.
The guide responded, "Yes, and this is the way is challenging.
You will be old by the time you reach the end of it..
But the end will be better than the beginning.

The young Mother was happy and she would not
believe anything could be better than those first years.
She played with her children and bathed them,
Soaked in their sweetness.
The sun shone on them and the Mother cried,
"Nothing will ever be as lovely as this."
>
Then night came and the days flew by,
Happiness and chatter of busy children filled the house,
Independence and personalities took shape
The Mother said,"Being needed is what being a Mother is about."

Morning came the bright sunshine and
the mountains were before them.
The children were fun-loving, yet anxious to experience life,
The Mother spoke,
"A little patience and we are there."
The children climbed and reached the top.
The Mother watched with joy the children's accomplishments.

The Mother lay down and looked at the stars.
This is a better day than my last, for my children
have learned fortitude in the face of harshness.
They have learned courage.
And they have learned strength.

The next day the children grew and sprouted.
The children succeeded and stumbled.
The Mother said, "Look up. Lift your eyes
to the light. Move on."
The children looked at the light in her eyes
and heard the care in her voice
That night the Mother said,
"Now my children have learned spirit".

Then the days went on, and weeks and months and years.
Her children were strong and proud and courageous.
Their spirit shone for all to see.
The Mother proclaimed,
"I don't know how this is possible,
The end is much sweeter than the beginning."

From the Bottom of My Heart, "Happy Mother's Day, Mom. I love you. XOXO!"
