Inauguration Day
Living in Washington, DC for 13 years was an incredible experience. For those of you who may not have visited yet, don't delay. It is a spectacular place, the history, the present times, museums, architecture, art, food, the list is endless.
We were fortunate enough to view 3 inaugurations. I took the boys out of school, and learned very early where the best viewing was. Sometimes the boys climbed the trees, sometimes we had places in the front row of the parade. Each time, the president got out of the car and walked right by us. It was a "goose bumps" moment. My eyes literally filled with tears thinking I was a part of this historical moment. To be able to expose my sons to this event was a dream come true.
Today is another inauguration day. People will be feeling the same sentiments I did a few years back. I am proud to be an American this and every day.
