Making Your Own Luck

Personal responsibility...We need that now more than ever. I am sure we all know people who say,"If I didn't have bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all."
"Boo Hoo, Waa Waa, Sob, Sob."
Luck is planned for and created. It is making choices to further a predetermined goal. Luck rarely just happens. If you want a good job, you work to get a good education. If you want to further your career, you roll up your sleeves and work harder than anyone else. Luck is making life happen for you, not letting life happen to you. Stop playing victim and own your life. Own your decisions, your choices, your goals. Celebrate your successes, your "good" luck and learn from your failures or your "bad" luck.
Randy Pausch in his book, The Last Lecture" had few pearls of wisdom we can all use.
1. Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.
2. It's not how hard you're hit, it's how you keep moving when you get hit hard.
They say next year is going to be tough economically. When things get tough, "Saddle up and ride." No whining. No complaining. No coddling. Brick walls are put there to show how badly you want it. It's up to you.
