Happy Thanksgiving!!

"It was on this day that the Indians and the Pilgrims sat down together and shared for the first time what has become an American Tradition....INDIGESTION!"
That's how the card reads that my sister first sent me in 1970. I had been married just 3 months. We were poor college students in Minneapolis and she was living the high life in San Francisco. The card struck me so funny, I saved it and sent it back to her the next year. If you can read the card, we have been sending it back and forth each year since then, so it is now going on year #38! We still laugh every year when we get the famous "Thanksgiving Card". Both my sister and myself keep it in a special place for the next year. It has been through so many moves it's hard to count. Let's see, San Francisco, CA, Minneapolis, MN, New York, NY, Benson, MN, New Orleans, LA, Appleton, WI, Chicago, IL, Tucson, AZ, Columbia, MD, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Milwaukee, WI, Paradise Valley, AZ, Jacksonville, FL, and Scottsdale, AZ. The card has become so valuable we now overnight the card as we are afraid it might get lost in the mail. We could buy several cards for what we spend in postage fees. But you couldn't pay us enough for this card in it's sentimental value. Happy Thanksgiving, Jan...and to all of my friends and family reading this. GOBBLE! GOBBLE!

"It takes 18 hours to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner and a mere 12 minutes to eat it. Coincidentally, half time is 12 minutes!" Erma Bombeck
Stay tuned for another blog post later today regarding BLACK FRIDAY!!
